Apple Watch Series 8 will be able to detect your fever
Supposedly, the next Apple Watch Series 8 will include a body temperature sensor that can detect a fever. The watch should be able to detect a rise in body temperature and prompt you to seek medical attention or use a separate thermometer rather than providing precise measurements.

Apple’s body temperature sensor has yet to be approved for release, but if it does, it will join the reported “rugged” version of the Apple Watch Series 8 for extreme sports enthusiasts. In contrast, the next Apple Watch SE (a more affordable model) will be missing the sensor.
Sensors that measure core body temperature have been on the market for well over a year. For well over a year, whispers have circulated about a brand-new body temperature sensor. Again changing his tune in April, he said a body temperature sensor will be available “early this year.” Ming-Chi Kuo, a supply chain analyst, also anticipates a release this year.
The Wall Street Journal said that sensors able to track a person’s body temperature may be used to track fertility as well. This would allow a person to know if they were more fertile or more likely to receive their period based on their temperature fluctuations. His most recent research only addressed fever detection, so it’s not known how (or if) Apple plans to include cycle tracks.
Few hardware changes are envisaged
Other than adding a sensor to track core body temperature, “minimal” changes to the Apple Watch Series 8 hardware are expected to be made. And it suggests that the top-end versions may have even more performance. It was forecasted last week that the Series 8 processor’s performance would be on par with that of the S7 and S6 chips it replaced.
It’s possible that the next upgrade won’t come until 2023 at the earliest. The redesigned AirPods Pro, which has been speculated to have a fitness-oriented design, will not have temperature or heart rate sensors this year.
