A Guide to Apply for a Duplicate RC Online

A duplicate registration certificate (RC) is issued to the vehicle owner by the Regional Transport Office after the vehicle has been registered (RTO). In the event of a renewal, you can apply for a replacement RC online and receive a duplicate RC book. If you have misplaced your RC and need a replacement, you can apply for one. To get a replacement RC, you must first file a report with the local police department where the original was lost. Requests for the RC and the police report can be made either online or at a local station. Here you will find instructions on how to request a replacement RC electronically.

Documents required:

  • First Isolated Report
  • To apply, you’ll need two (2) blank Form 26s.
  • Insurance policy confirmation page
  • Proof of a current pollution certificate
  • Copies of valid photo identification and proof of residency (voter’s registration card, passport, Aadhaar card, or utility bill)

  • Utility bill, telephone bill (from either BSNL or MTNL), gas connection, and a government checking account.
