Bard vs ChatGPT: Can Google really beat ChatBOT?

Google CEO Sundar Pichai made the announcement to roll out Google Bard, a chatbot, on February 6. Technology companies typically release products to a small group of “trusted testers” before they are made available to the public at large. Initiated two years ago, Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) project forms the basis for the company’s technological product, Bard. It will draw on what it has learned in the past to provide answers to users’ questions, and it will keep enhancing its abilities by analyzing how those answers are received.

The conversational chatbot supported by Microsoft and dubbed ChatGPT has created quite a stir in the technological community ever since it was made available to the general public a year ago. Using the prompts it provides, people all over the world have been writing everything from poems and novels to jokes and film scripts. Even though OpenAI presented a free research preview of ChatGPT to the general public on November 30 of the previous year, only a select few beta testers currently have access to Bard.

The chief executive officer of Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, announced on the company blog that the conversational AI service offered by the company will soon be made accessible to a larger number of users.

In India, there are a number of obstacles that make it so that merely having access to the internet are not the same as being able to use it effectively. The AI Classifier solution may be available to students via ChatGPT or Bard, but teachers may not have access to it or be familiar with it. Students may also have access to AI Classifier in a similar vein. Secondly, AI-generated content is more likely to be biased, and readers are more likely to take such information at face value. Bard will need to address these concerns before launching its product in India, both with Indian consumers and government regulators.
