In the first phase, UPI Lite will do the transaction in a near-offline mode, which means that debits will be done offline and credits will be done online. Eventually, both debits and credits will be done offline.

What is the transaction limit on UPI Lite?

According to NPCI, only debits from the wallet balance will be allowed. All UPI Lite credits, including refunds, will be available online in your bank account, which is stored in the bank’s core banking system.
