There could be any reason for them to use these old phones. Some people still use them as secondary phones. So there is a piece of bad news for those people who still like to use these old models. WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, is apparently planning to discontinue support for Old iPhones running Apple iOS 10 and iOS 11. According to WABeta Info, the business is now telling iPhone customers running iOS 10 or iOS 11 that they must update their devices if they want to continue using WhatsApp after October 24. The Technical dost article also includes an image of one such message.

However, most iPhone users probably won’t be affected as iOS 10 and 11 run on two very old Apple devices—the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. According to the alert, owners of certain iPhones will be unable to use WhatsApp after October 24.

Users who have an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6s running iOS 12 need not worry as the company will continue to support them.  These instructions are also now available on WhatsApp’s FAQ page. “We support iOS 12 or later, though we recommend using the most recent version available,” says the business.
