How you can unmentioned yourself in tweets
Soon, all Twitter users will have access to a new feature that lets them send tweets without mentioning themselves. For the sake of brevity, the new feature will allow users to delete their own comments from within a thread, effectively ending that thread. No matter what OS a user is running, they will be able to use this function.
When this new feature was introduced, Twitter users no longer felt obligated to join in on the conversation; instead, they could choose to do so if they so desired.
Because of this feature, “users can disconnect their handles from the conversation,” Users who aren’t mentioned in a thread won’t be alerted to new replies or able to continue following the conversation. The new policy will be implemented immediately. Furthermore, moving forward nobody can re-tag them in the thread that they opted to be in.

None of your Twitter companions will know you left the conversation unmentioned yourself in tweets
The three dots in the top left corner of a tweet are your cue to unsubscribe from the thread. In the resulting pull-down menu, choose “Leave this conversation.” Depending on the user’s preference, you’ll either be mentioned in subsequent tweets as a proponent or opponent of the selection they made. If you stop contributing to a discussion thread, the other users won’t be notified.
A full year has passed since we first resolved to focus solely on the “Unmanufactured” feature at the start of that same year. After being made available to a small group of users in April for beta testing, the public can now access it as well. The new “limit reply” feature on Twitter makes it easier to go unmentioned yourself in tweets. In addition, Twitter has been testing a “safety mode” with a subset of its user base to gauge how well it performs.
